Tyler Blue

A young boy stared out the window at the monotone, urban landscape passing by. He imagined it as a scene out of a movie and wondered what the soundtrack would be. It turned out that the movie was just life and the soundtrack was an entire jukebox worth of musical inspiration.

Tyler grew up feeling like he was different from all the other kids. He was cool enough, but still didn’t quite fit in. “What are you going to be when you grow up?” The perennial question, right? It took him until his early 30s when he finally found something he was good at. Thus began five years as a freelance journalist in Santa Barbara, CA, writing for local newspapers and magazines about music, food, libations, human interest features and much more.

After relocating to the Nevada City/Grass Valley area in 2012, music became even more of a focus. He shifted gears and eventually become the musical curator of a legendary venue in Nevada City – the Crazy Horse Saloon. At first promoting shows and then handling all bookings, the Horse became his home away from home. He takes tremendous pride in hosting nationally touring acts and providing a community hub for music freaks.

Tyler has also carried a lifelong passion for the benefits of cannabis. He is one of the managers of Nevada County’s sole dispensary – Elevation 2477. Whether providing musical inspiration or cannabis, it seems the common goal is to make people happy. Away from work, there always exists an insatiable thirst to speak with people and present the stories of those who are unquestionably Tapped in to the Source. Here we embark upon that journey together.
